A circadian rhythm is any biological process that displays an endogenous, entrainable oscillation of about 24 hours. These rhythms are driven by a circadian clock and have been widely observed in plants, animals, fungi, and cyanobacteria. This video is a play of audiovisual rhythms that describes the passing of time in the life of a person over a 24hr time lapse. In contrast to natural rhythms, here the rhythm is the typical imposed by our post-industrial society, driven by the use of technology and mass production. Instead of using the traditional way of showing / telling a story, this piece is an abstract painting in time that defines surfaces and colours, lights and shadows. It shows a different perspective for seeing and hearing daily routines. It explores the concepts of rhythm and repetition, the cycles and the subjectivity of time.
