This project is a live opera performance "Beguiling Orpheus", which presents a new media art "version" of the famous Christoph Willibald Gluck's baroque piece "Orfeo ed Euridice". In this interpretation the traditional theatrical stage design is replaced by electronic scenography, one female singer performs Orfeo's partition live, all other characters are presented as virtual personages in the video projection. It is an attempt to scrutinise the problem of the dissolution of an individual in a completely artificial technological environment. Considering this issue not just from a common perspective of a passive man attacked by technologies, but rather exploring the possibilities of an interaction between a person and an artificial environment, putting a real actor into virtual scenography in the context of the live stage performance.
