Gloria Arteaga is a multimedia artist who studied Fine Arts in Universidad Católica de Perú. She has participated in video art exhibitions as well as local and international festivals on new media. Her interdisciplinary purpose consists of live video projections, interactive exhibitions and performance. At first, since she was interested in a mass media aesthetic many of her videos responded to TV appropriation of the space in the media and publicity. At that time being her interest for electronic music and sound art took her to explore and alter audiovisual format due to the use of a non-narrative discourse. In her recent projects, she has discovered drawing as an expression tool for video works, which are focused on stories about Lima urban and social contexts. The exchanging and learning it has extended from the production of cultural projects to a pedagogical experience, both because of her participation and organization of several video art and experimental film collective exhibition inside her native country and abroad.
