Reside working as a video artist Dick Higgins has worked with performing, installations, sculptures, painter, writer and a mixture of all these medias. The base of Higgins work is centralised on the fluxux ideas and visual style.

He was the founder of Something Else Press, where he published his own books as well as books by Alan Kaprow, Gertrude Stein, Marshall McLuhan, John Cage, Merce Cunningham, Emmett Williams, and Ray Johnson among others. Short before his death he received a grant from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation.
