Filmmaker and poet, Abigail Child has been engaged since the 70s with vacation and home movies, porn loops, and snippets from forgotten B-movies. Child recycles and updates all this archeology pushing form and content, rewriting a narrative.

During the 80s she produced a seven-part film, Is This What You Were Born For?, a reworking of different film genres designed to explore their underlying content and social setting. In 1987 Child created Mayhem, a famous film about lesbianism, subject that involves herself personally.
