Matteo Basilé uses traditional photography, computer imaging and digital elaboration to conduct a profound investigation into contemporary humanity, placing an emphasis on the centrality of bodies and the almost-epic dignity of faces shot up close. Starting from a meticulously prepared photographic set and carefully selected models, Basilè uses electronic means to add elements, modify colors and invent surroundings in order to create striking portraits.
The work records the tension of the megalopolis while the war in Irak had just broken out. The manipulation of George W. Bush's discourse becomes the original sound for a global tension.
