Rohesia Hamilton Metcalfe defines her work as a dogma-resistant exercise that constantly explores the discrepancies between the polarized narratives of our soundbyte-saturated world and the realities of private lives as lived.
Media artist dedicated basically to video and internet, she is currently
working on an web project exploring the delicate frontiers between fact and fiction. She has received grants from the New Zealand Arts Council, the Australian Film Commission, New York State Council on the Arts, Niagara Council for the Arts and the Experimental Television Center, and has been awarded creative residencies at The Experimental Television Center, MacDowell Colony for the Arts, Harvestworks, Millay Colony for the Arts and Virginia Center for the Creative Arts.
