Paula Heredia has a line of awards, awarded for her movies. For example she has won Creative Emmy for her work in the HBO film: In Memoriam, New York City, 9/11/2001. She also has won other awards like: The American Cinema Editors Award for the documentary: Unzipped; Best Screenplay and Audience Award at the Avignon Film Festival in France for Sling and Arrows; 1996 Hispanic Creative Award for Teniendo un Bebé and had her film: The Couple in the Cage selected for the 1994 New York Film Festival.

Her work is very creative and has a documentary side to them.
She teaches in workshops about moviemaking all over The United States especially on the esthetics and technology of making films with digital video.

Paula serves on the board of directors of Women in Film International (WIFTI) and of Fundacion Clementina, Inc.
