Nelson Henricks is best known for his videos, but he also works as a musician, writer and curator. He has thought at the Université de Québec à Montréal and McGill University, but at the moment he is a teacher at the Alberta College of Art.
His videos are lyrical sophisticated. With the medium that few possess and he uses this to create works of enduring strength that elicit a spirit of wonder infused with curiosity in even the most jaded of viewers. His works seek to understand the isolation of out groups, but puts that status in to good use. Identity itself is constantly at issue: regional or national.
His work has been shown worldwide. For example he has exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art in New York and at the Montreal Museum of Fine Art.
