Alejandro Vidal's work is concerned with issues that address social conflict, activism, self-defence, and violence. This Barcelona-based artist employs several mediums such as video, photography, drawing, and installation, and has already earned his rep as the bad boy of Spanish art with his works tending to tap into urban tribes and youth subcultures.
Having said that, his creations make a solid attempt of examining today's society's state of mind, a particular historical moment and its implications. He investigates the social, political and economic effects of contemporary art taking a critical look at the way in which marketing and politics distort our attitudes to violence and life within our cities.
