Sergi Rubiķ (Sabadell, Barcelona, Spain, 1978) has an extensive filmography dating back to 1993, which includes the production and direction of short films and documentaries in conjunction with his studies of cinema in Barcelona and New York. In 1997, at the age of 18, he directed his first feature-length film, "Torrella, un vida pel cinema", a documentary biography of the writer Josep Torrella i Pineda. In 2000, Rubiķ began his cinema studies in the school Micro Obert in Barcelona. As his first-year final project in this school he filmed his first critical success, the short film "Mohamed", which was selected to compete in various international film festivals, and which won him, among other awards, a scholarship to further his studies at the New York Film Academy. Currently, Rubiķ is continuing his studies at ESCAC (Escuela Superior de Cine y Audiovisuales de Cataluņa) while concurrently directing his own films. Copies of the works of Sergi Rubiķ can be purchased and seen at Saatchi Gallery
