Matteo Basilé uses traditional photography, computer imaging and digital elaboration to conduct a profound investigation into contemporary humanity, placing an emphasis on the centrality of bodies and the almost-epic dignity of faces shot up close. Starting from a meticulously prepared photographic set and carefully selected models, Basilé uses electronic means to add elements, modify colors and invent surroundings in order to create striking portraits.
