She is an experimental, autodidact, productive and polyvalent artist: she poses for, films and edits her own videos. Her work is a reflection of a complex universe of contradictions expressed through contemporary icons.
Carmen's most recent works, both video and photography, are an introspection into the universe of impulses and emotions; more intimate than her precedent socially oriented works. In her pictorial vision of the emotional structure, multiple layers of images superimpose themselves in a metaphor of the complexity of thought. The artist uses her own body with added elements like fire, water, the subway, people. The amalgam of images brings to mind the confusing terrain of feelings: passion, pain, desire...
