Born in France in 1972, Piotr Baran begins to study art in Nantes in the early 90s. He continues in Leipzig, Germany, where he specialises in media art.
With found and self - recorded material, digital and analogue sequences, sound and image snippets he composes large-scale media collages (installations, sculptures, performances, photos). In visual spaces he lets our everyday life merge with completely new worlds and challenges the possibilities of actual experience in a society, where perception is mainly media generated and artificiality has become normality.
Piotr Baran lives and works in Leipzig.
