Born 1928 in Laasphe, Westphalia; studies art at Akademie der Künste, Munich, and the Kunstakademie, Düsseldorf; 1960 joins the Zero group, 1965 moves to the USA, collaboration with Aldo Tambellini, 1972 appointed professor of environmental art at MIT, lives in Cambridge (USA) and Düsseldorf.
